Day 2 ingredients
We made it to Day 2!! WOOT WOOT! 😉 Today was good… Very busy and productive at work which meant I didn’t have time to really focus on hunger. I did notice that as soon as I smelled food or it was lunch time I was hungry and needed food/juice NOW!
We had a Strategic Planning meeting today for my department so our lovely Director brought in lunch… Thai food. Really I wanted to order Cashew Chicken or Chicken Rama with Peanut Sauce… but instead I got a veggie stir fry with fried tofu. Yes I know, FRIED! Give a girl a break… It was my first time attempting Tofu. sometimes ya gotta ease into it! It was good though! I’ll actually order it again!
Day 2 Lunch
Overall feeling today… Well we have a headache and feel a little worn out but I’ve read that is a side effect… Not too worried about it during the first week. It could just be from the LACK of caffeine!! Yea, this 5 shot americano drinkin’ mama aint havin it right now!! Major changes people!
We are stickin with it… Weighed ourselves this morning and I’m down 2lbs and the hubby is down 5lbs. We are talking 1 day here! I realize this is water weight but I’m just going to call it motivation! And on to Day 3 people!!! LET’S DO THIS!
Day 1 Juice
A quick run down of the ingredients this morning… Kale, Red Leaf Lettuce, Tomatoes, Carrots, Celery, Cucumber, Apple, Lemon and Ginger. The amount above was split in 2’s (Hubby & I). Overall taste wasn’t too bad at all!
Day 1 Finished Product
Just remember what’s on the inside is what counts! 😉
Day 1 Dinner
We love cooked broccoli! Call us weird but we really do! I’m not sayin’ I would normally choose some broc over a fatty steak but right now it’s what I’ll take! Steamed a bit, throw some pepper and lemon on it and DONE!
We were still a bit hungry so we decided to make a Late Night Juice. These are the ingredients… I was hoping for a bloody mary/V8 style juice. CAUTION: when using jalapenos (or any hot pepper)… REMOVE THE SEEDS AND RIBS! YOWZA!!! SPPPICYYY! But drinkable…
Day 1 Evening Snack
The Cup Seemed Fitting!
Overall Day 1 of Operation System Reboot was a success! It was good… No complaints really. Other than fighting a few carby salty crunchy cravings. We even decided to see how long we can go with out eating meat. Of course, we will supplement with protein powder.
We also weighed ourselves this morning… Of course a woman never tells her weight but I think a realistic goal for Operation System Reboot would be 20lbs. The hubby is shooting for 30. (I secretly know he can do this!) Men seem to always lose it faster.
I was telling a coworker today, if I could get anything out of the next 30 days, it would be to just feel good again! It’s only been one day but I got my eye on that prize baby!
Now off to bed before the sweet/salty cravings hit!
Stay tuned for Day 2!
our new menu plan 😉
HI! Well call us suckers for documentaries or call it facing reality. The hubby and I were watching a documentary about weight loss and “rebooting” our bodies. The one that captured our attention was called “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead” by Joe Cross. I don’t want to go into a lot of detail about what it was all about but basically Joe Cross traveled miles influencing A LOT of over weight and unhealthy people. He had a chronic disease and was all around unhealthy. He decided to do a 60 day juice fast. We were amazed by his results. His disease… gone! This captured our attention and got us researching it and thinking if we could possibly do this…
Then we watch yet ANOTHER documentary about our diets in the U.S…. Let’s just say: NO BUENO! This documentary was called “Forks Over Knives.” This film examines the claim that most diseases can be controlled or cured just by our diets. Ummm TALK ABOUT EYE OPENING!
After discussing this more we decided that we really need and want to do something about our health. It is way over due! So… We are deciding to do a “No More Dirty in 30 Challenge!” 30 days of a semi juice fast, no dairy and no red meat for 30 days. Breakfast and Lunch will consist of homemade juices with fresh fruits or veggies for snacks. We will finish the day with dinner, consisting of lean meat, veggies and some brown rice or beans.
We LOVE our juicer and have used it quite a few times but this puppy will be takin it to ANUTHA LEVEL starting tomorrow. It squeezes out so much juice compared to some other juicers! And really we remember how fit Jack LaLanne was… he had’ve been on to something! 😉
Our new Lunchboxes
I got these great new water bottles from Target. They hold a whopping 56oz and have a little freezer tube thing to keep everything cold! Super excited to try this out.
We both know that this will be a challenge but we NEED and have to do this! We are both committed to this and determined to make a change. It’s not just about weight loss anymore… It’s about getting healthy, and yes there is a difference!
Stay tuned for daily posts, with juice recipes and an update on our progress!
